PIRAEUS
A brief guide to a bed and a good meal in Piraeus
On the map of Piraeus, to the centre right, you will find the hotel Anita/Argo. It is a simple hotel, reasonably priced and is about fifteen minutes walk from the port of Piraeus. If you are looking for somewhere not too noisy this is the right place where the staff are friendly and helpful. The complex consists of two hotels, the Anita and the Argo with a common entrance and reception. There are a total of 57 bedrooms on 4 or 5 floors some with air-conditioning. All rooms have shower/WC, television and telephone. There is a large welcoming air-conditioned lounge with a bar, cafeteria and television. At the side of the hotel there is a small private parking lot with video surveillance that is closed at night. If you arrive by boat a call to the hotel will bring a member of staff to greet you and collect you by minibus. For early departures, perhaps by air, there is an efficient wake-up service. The staff will be pleased to organise a taxi to help you to discover the sights of Athens. If you know your date of travel contact the hotel by E-Mail or fax. Because of its quiet location I have never had a problem finding a room at the Anita/Argo, even at busy periods.
