The location

The location: The Barko Taverna is just outside the centre of Adamas on the road to Plaka. Here you can sit in a wonderful garden among lemon trees, where it's sheltered from the wind and pleasantly cool in summer.

Your host: A family run restaurant, where Margarita is the mother and does the cooking, while her husband Grigoris serves. The family show great hospitality and are very helpful. Grigoris speaks fluent English and a little German. Open evenings only.

House specialities: Grigoris is a keen fisherman, so naturally the fish specialities are highly recommended. Especially delicious are the little calamari - fresh and crispy. For vegetarians there is a huge range of locally produced salads and vegetables to choose from. The meat, e.g. rabbit, lamb and pork, is all local too.
